I didn't know at the time of painting this piece, that it would have significance to what is occurring in Ukraine.  The painting was inspired by a photo I took in the field of 1 million sunflowers near our home. Also, little did I know that the monarch butterfly is significantly important to the pollination of plants and flowers. Such a small and delicate creature, yet so powerful in  its ability to contribute to the life of all species on our planet.
